Who runs this site
This website, securedogfieldnearme.co.uk, is called Dog Field Finder. It is run by [operator legal name to be added before launch].
What this directory is
Dog Field Finder helps dog owners find secure private dog fields. Listings are built from publicly available information and from details owners send us. The field businesses on the site are separate from us and book visits themselves.
What we collect through our forms
We have three forms. Each one asks for the details below, and we store them so we can reply and act on your request.
Every form also records that you ticked the privacy box, and stores a few technical details with your enquiry: the page you submitted from, the page you first landed on and the last content page you viewed (paths only, without query strings), the website that sent you here (its address only, not the full link), any campaign tags in the link you arrived by, and a random reference that stops the same form being saved twice. The enquiry record does not include your IP address, although our web hosting provider's server logs may. A hidden field is used to catch automated spam and is not shown to people.
We receive a notification of each enquiry by email, so your details also pass through our email service.
Spam protection on the forms
The three forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from automated spam. On those pages your browser loads a script from Cloudflare, which receives your IP address and technical information about your browser and device, and gives your browser a one-time check token. When you send a form, our server checks that token with Cloudflare before saving anything. We do not store the token or put it in the notification email. Cloudflare handles its data under its own privacy policy (cloudflare.com/privacypolicy). There is no separate consent choice for this check.
How we use it
- to reply to you and deal with your request;
- to check, correct, add or remove listings, and to confirm that someone who claims a listing runs the field;
- to keep a record of requests, and to count how many we receive;
- to understand how the site is used and to improve it (see analytics below).
If you add or claim a field, we may use the business details you give us (such as its name, website, location and business contact details) to create or update its public listing. Tell us if something should not be published. We do not publish your message.
Lawful basis: [lawful basis for each use to be added before launch]
Google Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4, a service from Google, to measure how it is used. The analytics tag loads when a page loads. There is currently no cookie banner or consent choice on this site, so the tag is not held back until you agree. Google Analytics may set cookies or use similar browser storage; our cookie policy explains this and how to block it.
The site sends Google Analytics:
- page views, including which listing or area page was viewed;
- clicks from a listing to the field's website, booking page or directions link, and clicks on phone and email links (without the number or address);
- clicks on our links to claim a listing or add a field;
- what you type into the area search box when you search for a place (not sent if it looks like a postcode), with the area you chose if one matched;
- a count of successful form submissions, with the form type (and, for the contact form, the topic chosen from the list).
We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, telephone numbers, message text or anything else you type into a form to Google Analytics. Outbound link events record the destination website without its query string. As with any website analytics, Google also receives technical information from your browser such as your IP address, device and browser details, which it uses under its own terms. See Google's explanation at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Links to other websites
Listings link to the field owners' own websites, booking pages and map links, and some of those use third-party booking services. When you follow one you leave Dog Field Finder and that site's own privacy and cookie policies apply. We do not control them.
Outbound referral clicks
The Visit website, booking and directions buttons on a listing go through our own server first, which records the click and sends you straight on. We use this to understand how the directory is used and to report to field owners how much traffic we send them. Each record holds the date and time, the listing, the type of button, the page you were on (its path only), the website you were sent to, and a hashed identifier. The identifier is a one-way code made from your IP address, your browser details, the listing and the date, using a secret key held on our server. Your IP address and browser details themselves are not stored. The code changes every day and cannot be turned back into your IP address, but it is a pseudonym rather than a guarantee of anonymity: it lets us count roughly how many different visitors clicked, and the count can be slightly high or low. Phone and email links on a listing do not go through our server.
Who else sees your information
Our web hosting provider, our email service, Google (for analytics, as above) and Cloudflare (for spam protection on the forms, as above). We do not sell personal information. We may disclose it if the law requires.
